The Jako Difference
What sets us apart from every other firewood supplier in the Cochrane area.
Local to Cochrane
We're not a faceless operation — we live and work right here in Cochrane, Ontario. You're supporting a local business that knows the community.
Birch & Tamarack Only
We don't mix in junk wood. Every order is 100% birch and tamarack — two hardwoods known for high heat output, clean burn, and long-lasting coals.
Air Dried Wood
Our birch and tamarack is split and stacked in an open stockpile to air dry. High demand means it moves fast — you're getting fresh, quality wood.
Delivery to Your Door
We deliver to Cochrane and the surrounding area for a flat $30 delivery fee. No hidden charges, no fuel surcharges — just a straightforward rate.
Processor Split
Every log is run through a processor for consistent size. No rot, no mystery wood, no surprises.
Year-Round Reliability
Summer campfire or dead-of-winter heating — we're always stocked, always delivering, always ready when you need us.
Premium Hardwoods
Only the Best Wood Makes the Cut
Birch and tamarack are two of the densest, hottest-burning hardwoods available in Northern Ontario. Birch lights easily and burns clean with a pleasant aroma. Tamarack is a powerhouse — dense, slow-burning, and ideal for overnight heating. We stock both and never mix in softwood fillers.
Consistent Quality
Every Piece Run Through a Processor
Hand-split wood is inconsistent — you get odd shapes, oversized chunks, and pieces that don't fit your stove. Every log we sell is run through a mechanical processor for uniform size. That means it stacks cleanly, fits your firebox, and burns predictably every time.
